This has got to be one of the best bench press units on the market. It has exactly what you need in a bench press and then some more. I am really excited!

Review of the Marcy MWB-Monster Olympic Width Bench Press

Okay so take a look at this little beauty. It has a comfortable seat, adjustable height barbell pins as well as full on strength supporting arms. This can handle some serious weight!

This bench press is perfect for people who can’t always have a spotter around. You just set the pins nice and low and if you feel like you can’t push it back up again you just drop it behind your head onto the pin. I have one of these in my gym and it is really handy. You can lift heavy without having to worry about crushing your chest with the barbell. Perfect.

If you are looking for a bench press that is a little stronger than the normal than this one is for you. It is one of the best designed bench presses I have seen in a long time.

If you want to get a price check on this bench press take a look here.

Sometimes it is a good idea to buy second hand fitness equipment. Bench presses are always good to buy second hand because they usually retain their strength and quality for a number of years. Here are some things you should look out for when buying a second hand bench press.

What to look for when buying a second hand bench press

Here are some things you should take a look at when you are buying the bench press.

1. Rust
If there is any rust on the bench press you should not buy it whatsoever. Rust weakens the structure of the equipment and usually spreads pretty quickly.

2. Dents and imbalance
The main thing a bench press needs to do is be stable when you are lifting a heavy weight. If the bench press is wobbly or unstable you should forget about it. Look elsewhere.

3. Price
The price should be no where near what an original bench press costs. You should be paying about 60% less than normal market price, even if it has only been used once or twice. To check out the prices of some bench presses take a look here.

4. Width of the arms
Make sure the arms are nice and wide a part. You should be able to put your hands on the INSIDE of the arms when you lift the bar. The wider they are usually means the more stable.

5. Placement of the arms
The arms should also be in the right place. You do not want to have to lift the bar from a position that is behind your head. This is important. Lay down on the bench and get a feel for where you would be lifting the weight from. It took me ages to find the bench press that worked for me.

If all of these things are right then the bench press should be in good condition. Take your time and don’t rush in. You will be using it for a long time and you want to be comfortable and safe.

To get a price on some cheap bench presses take a look here.

If you are trying to build some mean pec muscles then you will undoubtedly be working with the incline dumbbell press. Dumbbells presses are one of the best way to build the pectoral muscles and when you do them on an incline bench you get a much great result. However, you cannot do incline dumbbell presses on a regular bench press. Why? The damn upright arms get in the way!

Why everyone should own an adjustable inlcine weight bench

These “free” weight benches are fantastic. You can move them around, adjust the incline and adjust the angle of the seat. You do not store the weight on them and as a result there are no annoying upright arms to get in your way. Normally when you are doing dumbbell bench presses, dumbbell flys, etc. the bench press arms get in the way. Not with this bench. Here you are free to press the weight on whatever angle you want and as such you will have a much better and more effective workout.

The Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Bench

Bowflex have this really neat bench out at the moment. It seems to be superior to the others in that it offers more incline settings than most. It is also really stable and allows you to handle a lot of weight. It also comes with decline settings (bonus!) and has a 30 year warranty. That is pretty amazing. If any of us are still weight training in 30 years I will be surprised.

Get a price on the Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Bench

When you buy a bench press you need something that is stable and sturdy and the Deltech is the best way to go. It is so important to get a good quality bench press otherwise you will find yourself in big trouble when you try to lift a heavy weight.

Why the Deltech bench press is awesome

Take a look at the picture and you will see why the Deltech is my favorite brand of bench press. The supports are really wide. This is so important. One of the worst things you can have happen on the bench press is the bar resting right in front of your head and the hand grips are just where you need to put your hands. This makes picking up and putting the weight down really difficult and very dangerous if you are lifting a heavy weight. The Deltech avoids this problem completely.

The arms are also adjustable so you can put them up or down depending on how long your arms are. Again, this is a very important safety feature.

This bench press is designed for the serious lifter. It is ready for heavy weight and a lot of working out!

Get a price check on the Deltech Bench Press.
